Remember there are 28 days times 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks a day equals 84 meal packages plus 56 small snack packages, so you’ll need plenty of freezer space to accommodate all that.

Okay, you have now stored all the meals in your freezer and you are ready to begin your first full day with breakfast. There is a pretty good selection of breakfasts (see the article on NutriSystem Meals) but the first thing you notice about the one you select is that it’s pretty small. Ok, you eat it and its actually pretty good but you have to remember that you are trying to lose weight now and that means you have to eat less than you did before.

Lunchtime comes and again, you are faced with a small meal. If you need more food, the recommendation is to add a green salad or something similar that is virtually calorie free but will help to bulk the meal so you feel more satisfied. But if possible, try to stick to what is provided. This is the best way as it will get you used to eating smaller meals. You have two snacks you are allowed to eat during the day, but rather than wolfing them down straight after lunch, try and spin the time out more evenly.

In the evening, your main meal will be a much smaller offering than what you were used to. Instead of throwing your arms skywards and getting ready to complain, comfort yourself with the knowledge that this is helping you to lose weight. What, you thought you could do that by eating as much as you always do? Come on, please, you have to make some sacrifices. remember, no pain, no gain? Well, it also relates to dieting!

If you are desperate for more food, you are allowed to add some fresh vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli etc or salad. No potatoes, pasta or bread!

There are few other things to be prepared for. One of them is flatulence, or gas. If you’ve been used to a diet of fast food, or processed junk, then the switch to healthy food is going to give your digestive system a rude awakening. Your gut will produce some gas to begin with, so don’t be alarmed by this. After all it is just a normal bodily function that probably hasn’t been working for a while. Another is that while most of the meals are actually pertty tasty, not all of them are. You may find some meals a little bland, but again, you are probably used to tasty sauces and relishes etc that are all high caloire and therefore not allowed as part of this diet.

Lastly, a good recommendation if you really want this to work hard for you is by working hard for yourself. I mean by doing some exercises every day if you can. You don’t necessarily need to go to teh gym to work out, unless you want to. You can go for long walks or try swimming. Anything to help boost your metabolism and jumpstart your muscles to burn even more calories for you and get rid of that excess fat. This is a pretty good program and its worth doing all you can to help it work by helping yourself in the process.
