Introduction on Cleveland Clinic Diet

People, who are really health conscious, will definitely have a proper knowledge about this plan. The name of this diet is inspired from a clinic in Ohio called the Cleveland. However, alternate versions explaining the origin of the name also exist. It is a three day health plan and it is mainly for designing a low calorie diet. Being introduced since 1970, this dietary program help to reduce the body weight by following a 3 day diet plan. Within this, there are some suggestions about specific foods that must be consumed on a regular basis. Here is the basic plan as below:

The 1st Day

Breakfast: Lunch: Dinner:
1/2 Grapefruit or Juice
1 Slice of Toast
1 or 2 tbsp. Peanut Butter
Black Coffee or Tea
1/2 cup Tuna
1 Slice Toast
Black Coffee or Tea
3 oz. (2 Slices) of any Meat
1 cup String Beans
1 cup Beets or Carrots
1 small Apple
1 cup Vanilla Ice Cream

The 2nd Day

Breakfast: Lunch: Dinner:
Black Coffee or Tea
1 hard-boiled Egg, any style
1 Slice of Dry Toast
1/2 or 1 Banana
1 cup Cottage Cheese
or: 1/2 cup Tuna
Black coffee, water, or tea
Five Saltine Crackers
Two Wieners
Black coffee, water, or tea
1 cup Broccoli or Cabbage
1/2 cup Carrots
or Turnip Greens
1/2 or 1 Banana
1 cup Vanilla Ice Cream

The 3rd Day

Breakfast: Lunch: Dinner:
1 hard-boiled Egg or 1 slice cheddar cheese
1 Slice Toast
Black Coffee or Tea
one 4-oz glass of apple juice
Black Coffee or Tea
1 Slice Cheddar Cheese or 1 hard-boiled Egg
5 Saltine Crackers
1 small Apple
1 cup Tuna or chicken
1 cup Carrots or Beets
1 cup cauliflower or Green Beans
1 cup Cantaloupe
or 1 small Apple
1 cup Vanilla Ice Cream

Conclusion

Cleveland diet is a special kind of program that helps you to lose weight at quite a fast rate. If the prescribed plan is adopted for three days regularly, it can be very effective. It is basically a very low calorie diet and shows results in just three days. It is a very well studied plan and has various substitutions.

However I don’t recommend it since it’s not a sustainable approach to your weight loss by using these 3 days diets or variations, and you can find many other healthier options for you to lose weight.
